National Signing Day Is Here!

Finally, Cal fans, know that by the end of the day you'll be able to let out a deep breath and whatever else you've been holding in for the past few months.

Look, we're not going to rehash the series of events that have contributed to the Bears possibly signing the top class in the country to battling for the upper tier of the Pac-12 in recruiting. That's been done ad nauseam, but if you want to further beat yourself up over it, check out Jeff Warren's notes on the whole Lupoi debacle here. It simply backs up some of the shady accounts I've heard of the situation. Not good ya'll.

But this post isn't about that. It's about celebrating the Golden Bears we've got coming in who are bleeding blue and gold. After all the chaos over the past few weeks, our commits have been forced to look within themselves for the why they chose to come to Cal, and hell, it'll make them all the better for it.

Granted, we've lost some big name recruits and some possible commits in the process, but as I've said all along, I'd rather have a group of guys who are going to lay it all out on the field for their school for the right reasons, than to come here with any delusional or at the very least, uncertain pretenses for their collegiate success.

There are a few commits on the line that will come down to the wire, and it'd be epic to see a few targets flip. But we've got a real solid group of guys that I'll try to cover in the coming weeks. Be excited, and don't let a few targets who decide elsewhere take the wind out of your sails.

California Golden Blogs will have a likely massive signing day thread here. Expect at least 50 animated gifs and twice as many Tosh Lupoi jokes.
