Aaron Rodgers, Your NFL MVP

This announcement came over the weekend, but I wanted to post the good news once I got the actual footage of ARod's acceptance speech which you can see here.

Rodgers won the award in a near unanimous fashion, earning 48 of the possible 50 votes (Drew Brees earned the other two). A look at what he accomplished this season, and it's no wonder why. On top of leading his team to a 15-1 record, Rodgers posted the league's record for best single-season passer rating of 122.5. He completed 68.3 percent of his passes for 4,643 yards, 45 touchdowns and just 6 interceptions.

But the honor usually awards importance to the team more than just productivity. And one look at Green Bay's secondary tells you how essential Rodgers was to his team's success this year.

Watching the video, it's hard to believe that it's been just seven years since I cheered on Rodgers in the stands of Memorial Stadium with chants of "Aaron Rodgers! *clap clap clap clap clap* Aaron Rodgers! *clap..."

In that time he's become a multiple time pro-bowler, a Super Bowl MVP and winner of the first of many MVP awards. Just unbelievable stuff.

The craziest part? The guy has just completed his 4th season as a starter. He's just getting started...

Ouch... As a Niners fan.. ouch. But still well-deserved nonetheless.

Agreed as both a Niners and Cal fan. It was fun to see Rodgers give the Niners a "shoutout" as well.
